Byerly Bus Stops at Memphis Winch Park

Location: Langston Winch Park
Date: June 17th-18th, 2009
Article by: Matt Clendenin

Thanks to planning from Hyperlite rep Jeremy Baker and regional Hyperlite rider Leif Lacey, the Byerly bus managed to find their way to the Langston Winch Park. Scott Byerly, Ross Gardner, George Daniels, and Brett Little arrived late Wednesday night in the Byerly Team bus pulling the custom Byerly 210 Nautique.

Wednesday night was filled with some rail riding, swimming, relaxing in the hot tub, and lots of ping pong. It was here we learned that Gardner’s “back-up” option was ping pong just in case he decided to drop the whole pro-wakeboarder/pro-wakeskater thing. After a late night, the Byerly team and local riders Leif Lacey, Chase Goddard, Matt Clendenin, David Stover, Greg Langston and others prepared for a full day on the rails.

Thursday morning came early as Mr. Langston sat down to man the winch for the entire day (we can’t thank him enough). The Byerly team and the local riders were ripping it all day. However, many standout tricks came from one man, Brett Little. He threw down a slew of tricks over the 6-foot pool gap, including: a massive FS ollie 360, a switch BS 180, 360 shuvit, and switch bigspin.

By the end of the day everyone was exhausted from the scorching Memphis heat and was ready for another night of grilling and leisure. Overall the two days were a huge success and Memphis cannot wait to have those guys back. Thanks to everyone that took part in setting up the event and a HUGE thanks goes out to Mr. Langston for letting us crash his pool house and for running the winch.
